50 Notable Trees of Taunton Deane Nomination Form
The Heritage and Landscape Team at Taunton Deane Borough Council are launching a project
to highlight 50 notable trees within the district, one from each parish.
The idea is that parishioners nominate their favourite trees, from which each parish council
and tree warden will choose one.
The 50 chosen trees will then be featured on a poster/ leaflet/exhibition/ website with
photographs and information about the trees and their locations.
The aim of the project is to raise awareness of the importance of the trees around us.
We hope that it will be an enjoyable way for people to take a closer look at the trees in their parish.
A tree may be nominated for a variety of reasons; it may be very old or large for its
species, or have a particularly interesting or unusual shape; it may be a landmark tree because
of its prominent location or rarity; it may have historic significance or be linked to a famous person or local tradition; it may be nominated for the wildlife that it supports.
To nominate a tree, fill in the details this form and return to your parish council by the end of
August 2007.
